What is Quick Labs?
Quick Labs is a scientific incubator established to address the pressing demand for affordable, flexible lab space in the UK, specifically designed for early-stage, deep-tech start-ups and freelance scientists.
Founded in Yorkshire, Quick Labs supports scientific innovation by providing a unique daily rental model for equipped labs, with no long-term contracts, deposits, or notice periods. This approach allows researchers to quickly and affordably carry out proof-of-concept experiments, validate scientific ideas, and develop minimum viable products (MVPs).
Since its inception, Quick Labs has been heavily supported, driven by the UK’s shortage of lab space and the government’s aim to foster scientific superpower status by 2030.
Besides access to lab facilities Quick Labs offers the option to become a member providing essential resources for early-stage start-ups, including intellectual property support, business model development, pitch deck feedback, technology insights, grant writing assistance, and investment opportunities.

Leeds City Council’s Innovation@Leeds funding programme has selected Quick Labs to deliver a project that will directly support 10-15 businesses. By helping these companies develop sustainable technologies and secure funding, Quick Labs aims to strengthen Leeds' innovation ecosystem. Beneficiaries include SMEs, PhD and post-doctoral researchers, and early-stage entrepreneurs exploring scientific business ideas. They will all benefit from PR to promote their businesses.
This project is funded by the UK government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
